ABOUT US

The Cistercian Order of the Narrow Observance (also known as “Trappists”) is a Contemplative Religious Order of the Roman Catholic Church, made up of monasteries of Monks and Nuns. We are part of the broad Cistercian Family, which has its origins in 1098. As Cistercians we follow the Rule of Saint Benedict, and therefore we are also part of the Benedictine Family. Our lives are dedicated to the pursuit of union with God, through Jesus Christ, in a community of brothers or sisters.
